Ways to control hypoglycemia caused by insulinoma in pancreas?

Posted by pontiac @pontiac, Mar 26, 2023

Anyone had Whipple, still unable to control hypoglycemia. There's only so much food I can eat, and I've gained too much weight trying to control it. My glucose can drop 60 points in 15 to 20 minutes

When was your husband's first treatment? How is he feeling? Any side-effects that were unexpected?

He had his first 6 days ago. Has had some stomach upset on and off and very tired. He has been on Everolimus since his Cap/Tem treatment stopped working late October so this is helping with the sugars. Today was his best day in a week so staying optimistic. They gave him his Octreotide shot after the treatment. One down , three to go.

The Everolimus is likea miracle for my husband's insulinoma but he was never a candidate for Whipple so not sure if it would help. His is metastatic G3 Stage 4. Everyone is different in this process.
