Heberden’s nodes: Does anyone use finger sleeves?

Posted by hawkssr @hawkssr, Dec 2, 2022

I would like to try finger sleeves on my little and pointer fingers as I have Heberden’s nodes on both and constantly hit them. I’m seeing a ton on Amazon and have no idea which ones really work for protection and comfort. Does anyone use finger sleeves and recommend what has worked for you. Thank you! I can not find any info here on Heberden’s nodes.

I have the "beginnings" of Heberden's nodes. My physician's PA had never seen them "in person," before. He closely examined and manipulated my fingers. I had pain and stiffness, swelling of my hands. I needed help opening jars, bottles, and dropped silverware. I also was diagnosed with Hyperparathyroidism and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Increased Vitamin D 3 supplements physical therapy, heat and ice were prescribed. I also wear compression gloves and sleeves. Right now, all blood tests are within normal limits so no other treatment has been advised.

I have them on several fingers from erosive osteoarthritis. I sometimes use the elastic finger sleeves in black or tan and find them very helpful. Sometimes I rub a CBD ointment on before the sleeves are placed. The only downside is removing them before going to the bathroom or handwashing, etc. They do stretch out after a while. I'd say it's worth trying since they're so inexpensive.
