If you take Tymlos and have painful side effects, you can just stop. If you take Evenity
I'm with the endocrinologist.
Thank you!!
I did Tymlos first (ramped up dose and took 7/8 of a dose for most of the time) and am now doing Evenity. I have been told I could not do it the other way around. That is the main reason I did Tymlos first.
Some docs are doing this sequence and I saw it last night in a study. But my endo kept saying that there was no data on doing Evenity after Tymlos. I showed him various examples of people doing that (anecdotal, not data) and wore him down so he agreed!
ps I vote for Tymlos! But Evenity is a little more potent for hip.
Evenity didn’t really work for me. Tymlos has worked the best with the most gains. After a few weeks dizziness and slight headache has eased. I do the full dose.
With Tymlos: How have you treated your headache and dizzines! Are you able to exercise?
What gain have you seen in hips and back?
The absolute fracture risk reduction seems pretty low, but doesn’t seem to be great with snything.
@sallyj2 - my headache only lasts 30 minutes, so I don’t do anything for that. It’s not really too bad. I do my shot at night, so I just sit down or lay down for 30-60 minutes and the dizziness dissipates.
I do my exercises in the morning, then I walk at lunch. If I were to do them at night, I would just do them before my shot.
My endocrinologist suggested Evenity, I asked for Tymlos because I've heard I can go to Evenity after Tymlos but not the other way around. She said it was a good choice for me. Apparently Evenity is covered better by insurance, which is a factor for many people. I've only been taking Tymlos about a week. I had a constant mild headache at first, still waking up with one but it goes away mid morning. I think I'll adjust and the headaches will stop soon.
It might help to stay hyperhydrated. In addition you might use this as an excuse to eat something salty. The endocrinologist I see says the headaches are caused by vasodilation. So anything that constricts your blood vessels could help. Caffiene initially constricts but then dilates the blood vessels.
I do think some people adjust and the headaches go away.
I hope it's true for you.
