Hi there . The test which was done analyzed more than one gene . A whole bunch of them beginning with letter APC all the way to VHL. I counted about 48 or so if Im reading it right. I really appreciate you for telling me I can have surgery now and reconstruction later.

@prc73 - Hello! I am so glad to know you had a multigene panel! So you can safely say that of the variants currently known, you do not have any that are hereditary and could potentially predispose you to breast cancer. You should be very happy!

I understand how difficult it is to navigate all the information and the decisions you need to make. Yes, you can undoubtedly do the surgery now and the reconstruction later. Some women decide not to do the reconstruction at all; others wait until they recover fully from the first surgery. Others, wait until they are sure of what they want to do. Don't worry, it is OK to wait. If you'd like to share your plans, please do so.
