@kbro what are the symptoms of silent reflux? I mean, if you don’t actually experience heartburn - which is the main reason you would go to see a doctor (I.e., you have to feel some sort of pain or discomfort to investigate a problem), what sign/symptom do you go by? I have been diagnosed with a couple of silent problems (not gastric - that definitely was not “silent” in my case, lol) by an unrelated test or procedure. Was that the case with you?

I started to have the Globus sensation in my throat by my collar bone. Then about 5 months later bad congestion, sinus pressure, nasal cycling, ears feel full, clogged, ringing and I have lightheadedness. I took myself to the ER because I was having a hard time breathing. The ER doctor diagnosed me with reflux and put me on meds. I also had a CT scan of my throat. He told me to see an ENT for my congestion. They said I had allergies and put me on Flonase. That did nothing. Then saw a GI doctor and had a EGD w/dilation. That did not help. I was told I have esophagitis with mucosal breaks. I have also had an esophagram. This showed I refluxed 4 times in a 2 min period. I didn’t fell it at all. And this was while I’d been taking 40 mg of pantoprazole twice a day for a month and a half. So that wasn’t helping either. I am going next Friday to have the EGD w/Bravo done by a different GI doctor.
