Mom diagnosed with ovarian cancer severe leg pain. Relief ideas?
My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 3 weeks ago. Still no name for type of cancer. The biopsy was forwarded to Mayo for identification So hard to not have a plan. Also she has severe pain in leg and no relief of the pain so far. Looking for any suggestions. Thigh severe burning. Same side as ovary pain is a 10 out of 10. She hasn’t ever been sick before. Hospitalized only for births 53 years ago

@lhmfamily01 Thank you for getting back to me. It's good that your mother has started treatment and that the new nerve blocking medication is helpful to her. I'm relieved to know that she is experiencing less pain now. Will you accompany her to the infusion center?
I attempted to join but was denied. Thank you though for the suggestion.
I know they are careful (because they don't want scammers), but I am surprised/disappointed that they denied you. I told them my sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and they accepted me. I have found the site to be very helpful.
It is a "women only" site. If you are a female, I don't know why you'd be rejected.
Here is an excerpt from their "ABOUT" page:

Hi - my mother-in-law is on round 2 of chemo for endometrial cancer and had leg pain after first treatment so dr recommended 24 hr regular claritin. As a histamine blocker it’s supposed to alleviate the bone pain from the chemo drugs. She takes it starting on the day of infusion and for 4 days afterward. Still has some pain but not as bad as first round. Can I ask what nerve pain blocker they prescribed for your mom? Thanks and good luck 🍀
They prescribed Gabapentin and she is taking it now. She is 4 days post first infusion and her leg pain is all but gone at the moment. It is all related to the fluid buildup and cancer on the same side ovary we presume. So far so good.
