I did radiation because they caught my tumor/ lump in the very early stages. They wanted me to do radiation for the surrounding breast tissues to prevent a reoccurrence. So far the area gets really red and itchy so I put aquaphor on it to help sooth my skin. I work as a Correctional Officer and my shift are week on week off 7/84. I’ve been getting off work at about 8.5 hours and going to my treatment then going home to rest and doing all over again. I have treatment Monday through Friday except holidays. I’m going to be doing night shift so I will get off and do my treatment when the office opens. Then go home and rest then go to work again. I’ve been trying to stay on my normal work and home routine. My husband and kids are doing more around the house so I don’t have to which is a blessing.

Hi
Thks for info. Yes mine was stage 0 dcis insitu. The way the surgeon explains it. It's easier if it's a tumor then any milk ducks to get out so the radiation is required to make sure that nothing microscopic has dropped off upon removal. Once I get my pathology and my onco type testing. I will know what's happening.
