My first MRI from 6 months ago had the same description, but was given a BI-RADS 4. The “mass” has went down 2 mm, so I’m assuming that’s why the BIRADS went from a 4 to a 3? I have read and concerned that the mass could potentially turn malignant. I don’t like the idea of “watching and waiting”.

You're wise to dig deeper about the change in BIRADS but also about the "chronic inflammation surrounding blood vessels" and "dilated venous structures within adipose tissue". There are easily understandable research papers on the web regarding those descriptors of breast tissue. One thing I've learned after 17 years of treatment is not to assume but to ask about everything. We are better self-advocates when we are fully informed to our satisfaction. Keeping you in my thoughts for a helpful appointment tomorrow. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

@ldrutter, any update? How are you doing?
