Hi @amee, I'm tagging fellow members like @leebeth @ncoic @spryguy @robert570 @nores717 @dwpoole @dwpoole @eercat81 who can share their experiences with Pluvicto (lutetium Lu 177).

As for deciding whether to start this treatment now or when for your dad, that is a tough one for fellow patients to answer. It sounds like you need more information from his oncologist to help your decision-making. I would ask questions like:
- With his PSA level responding well to current treatment, why is now a good time to include or switch to Lu 177?
- What are the side effects?
- What are the benefits?
- What would happen if he chose not to start this treatment yet? Never?
- Can he take a break or treatment holiday if treatment side effects are too much?

When do you speak with the oncologist to make your decision?

I WAS RESPONDING WELL TO CURRENT TREATMENT, THEY STOPPED IT TO TRY PLUVICTO AND MY PSA WENT FROM 1.56 TO 20.83 I STOPPED IT AFTER 3 ROUNDS, SCHEDULED FOR 6. This doesn't mean it will fail for you and for most it works. Just be careful and monitor things. By the way I was on Jevtana and Imback on it again. MY PSA is slowing. Good luck!

I finished 6 lu177 treatments in November. I’m still on lupron and zytiga. My psa has been undetectable for about 6-8 months. I was in a clinical trial to test this triplet therapy. It will be hard to determine which treatment gets credit for my good outcome. My bone scans with the most recent scan in December show fewer bone Mets . I am told the remaining areas of uptake are from bone healing and not the tumors. I’m told that I am in remission and my outcome at this point is the best that could be hoped for. Hopefully this clinical trial will help determine how much early lu177 treatment was responsible.
It is hard to distinguish what caused my SE but fatigue is slightly better after finishing Lu 177 so I suspect it caused additional fatigue. But it’s manageable. It left me with dry mouth and metallic taste but that is getting better.
My hope is that ADT weakened the Mets so that Lu177 could finish them off.

I was not allowed to start Pluvicto until Chemo had been tried and failed or tolerating was too difficult. I'm 4 weeks out from Pluvicto round # 1 now. No nausea, but my appetite is less demanding. Fatigue is a come and go thing, I try to keep my same schedule.
Thank you everyone for posting to allow others to get prepared and or make decisions.
Healthy Happy New Year To All...............
