Norman martínez 1949,

I too have a lot of pain in my knee (s). I had a partial knee replacement in my left knee in 2010 and my right knee has been getting gradually more painful in the last few years. In Sept 2023 I was in a bike accident and fractured my left tibia right next to the partial knee replacement. I was in an immobilizer brace for 6 weeks and was not allowed to put any weight on my left leg while the bone healed. So, my arthritic right knee had to do all the work. My right knee is now very painful all the time. My doctor said I would be a good candidate for a total knee replacement of the right knee. But I have other health issues so I wanted to try an alternative to TKR. He said in addition to cortisone injections there are Hyaluronic gel injections and PlateletRich Plasma (PRP) injections. The PRP injections are not usually covered by medical insurance - so I am scheduled to begin a series of three weekly Hyaluronic Gel injections into my right knee starting next month. I’ll post an update after I finish those injections.

I had a total knee replacement done in November 2022 and it was the best decision I’ve made. After about 9 months I was climbing the 14 flights of stairs in the Gonda building. I sure do recommend it.
