Has to wait for a month to get an MRI
My daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with a abnormal breast edema through her mamogram. It is painful and they said it is inderminate for evolving mastitis versus possible inflammatory breast cancer. BAD NEWs they can't get her MRI scheduled for a full month. She is frantic and not doing well at all - what would you recommend? Scream loudly and go to the Emergency Room???

Now I hope my future appointment goes well without incident only because I have lost all feeling in my leg .. There’s definitely a disconnect between the person scheduling these appointments and our healthcare community as a whole. Very Sad
What a frustrating experience. I am sorry you are going through this. Are you being seen by your primary physician? The loss of feeling in your leg might be enough to move the MRi into an urgent case. My doctor’s medical assistant was recently very effective in working with the radiology to get my breast MRI done. Also, can you travel elsewhere to get the MRI done?
@mc9, it is frustrating and worrisome to not get an appointment quickly when you know something is wrong. Have you had other tests like a biopsy or blood tests that indicate what you might be dealing with? Have you called again to ensure the hospital knows that the insurance has been approved?
