How to manage having Covid and MAC?

I got COVID from my husband that went to a wedding in Ohio. I didn’t go because I was afraid it would be a super spreading event. He masked at the airport and on the plane. The first night he was home he slept in a separate bedroom, the next night he told me he had no symptoms and was fine, two days later (and on Thanksgiving) he came down with symptoms. He wore a mask when he was in the house after that and slept in a separate room again. Two days later I had a sore throat that lasted a week, not really sick and didn’t test positive until 5 days later. I had been vaccinated for COVID and I feel like that kept me from getting real sick. Last year, as careful as I was in public and on airplanes, I got it from family in my own home. I feel like I lost three years of hiding and missed out on lots of fun things being afraid of people and germs. My daughter is a teacher and I have grandchildren so if I want to see family I take the risk of picking up things. Life is short so my thinking now is be cautious, mask when necessary and enjoy what you can. I hope you all stay well!

It is difficult to always have to make a risk assessment. Freedom is lost. I wait for summer when I can socialize outside with less risk. But even then...I caught my second Covid sitting next to my brother in an outdoor restaurant.
