DHEA?
Dr. Doug Lucas, YouTube, produces a channel called Optimal Bone Health. And he is touting research he says supports women using DHEA as a supplement effective in treatment of Osteoporosis.
Any experience or information?

One of the major downsides is hair loss .
You might want to read this Mayo article about it. They do not seem to be favorably impressed.

@normahorn - thank you for sharing this resource as that is the one I was going to share as well.
@tgrichards, it looks like there is limited data on using DHEA for osteoporosis prevention and maintenance. It looks as though there may even be contradictions with estrogen and other treatments so as with any other new supplement or medication, you ay want to speak with your provider before adding it your routine.
@tgrichards, are you currently taking, or have tried, any osteoporosis medications?
I tend to take with a grain of salt the things that Dr. Doug Lucas promotes. There's a lot of "best" singular supplements, exercise, etc which for me are red flags. In addition, he often cites small, older studies. He's a bit of a salesman, selling products and his $13K annual program. I think it's fine to watch his videos to glean information and then research for yourself. The site I generally use to do further research is ConsumerLab.com. Their focus is on food and supplements and they do their own testing and provide information from the latest studies. There's a modest annual fee which is well worth it. According to the research and evidence they provide, there does not seem to be enough good evidence of DHEA's benefit on bone.
You’re right to be careful with supplements. I take several, but have recently had side effects with DIM, MK-4, and Calcium.
has anyone experienced a higher heart rate while using DHEA?
