Distracting your brain can be incredible medicine. Your mind can only focus on one thing at a time. I know people believe they can truely multitask. But the brain can only comprehend one task at a time. If you truely do things you enjoy will take your mind off pain. I know many, many will say but I hurt to much to do anything. But what happens when you just sit around. You just concentrate on pain. Stretching a couple times everyday truely helps in the long run especially. A truely incredible pain doctor I had years ago. Told me you need to hurt more now to hurt less in the future. So,so true
Isn't that fantastic... I used to do that a lot when I was off of work and loved it because it gave me a time off from my stress filled days. If your dreading what's coming up in the future (which you don't really know) it takes away from your present day adventures and pleasures. Enjoy the day because you only have today to do it!
@chasteve I routinely change up some creams on my right knee, that has bad osteoarthritis. Arnica Gel lotion, or Topricin lotion both for the fibro, but helps relieve discomfort. Also capsaicin based creams [I call them my "old people's cologne" will warm up the area. CBD tincture sublingual once or twice a day. Stretching, walking gently, all help. I have learned the hard way to be gentle on myself.

@gingers Have you tried Emu cream I haven't but some people swear by it .This is 3months now and my sciatica still bothers me ,I don't know if I need to think of surgery ,non-invasive or try cream ,acupuncture or what I'm running out of options
@sundance6 It's so true, this is a great place. We all want to be here, to speak/understand/vent/support each other. We all know the value of being heard, and the disappointment of not being heard. Family is not typically given a choice, and will often turn away. I know my family does.
Thanks for voicing what so many of us feel, also!
Ginger
@do_in_sandiego Well, let's all make a promise to ourselves to do something similar! I bet you have prompted several to try this way of looking at a day.

Family get annoyed with the complaints but we are a different family. We have and understand your same language and speak it. So, I don't even bring it up....Here we can freely talk. Smile.
I started out with the cream and now use the spray. Wally World has the best price. If during the night my right hip starts to hurt I get up spray in on, rub it in good, go potty and my hip is ok the rest of the night.
