@gingerw Never thought of talking to it thanks cause I'm not going for that stimulator
Distraction is a huge part. Keeping very busy is a huge help. Don't get caught in that pain circle. Truely finding things that keep your mind in other places is a huge help. Hobbies, riding motorcycles, your favorite car rides. If your doing something that absorbs your mind. Your not thinking of pain. And dioframic breathing can be super useful during very bad days too. There are free apps for your phone and computer to teach you how to do it. Don't blow it off. It truely works. I know it sounds crazy. But I have lived with terrible pain for 37 years after 2 helicopter crashes. I wouldn't share if it didn't work. Stretching a couple times a day helps in the long run too. You will feel worse at first. But stick with it.
Can I ask why you don't like the stimulator idea ??
@tazcot For one thing it's to new going into the spinal cord scares me the side effects some haven't seen any comfort from it .I like a track record of medicine or the devices planted into you.
I was just curious. I have 2 of them. And yes, they only work for less than 50% of patients out there. Now ,I haven't had any side effects. Do you go to Rochester by chance ?
I have been struggling with Chiari 1 Malformation, really bad, since my Recalled Takata Airbag blew up. I am really having a hard time finding a Patient Advocate, when I do not feel good, which is for the last year, I cannot think of what to ask. I just accept what the doctors say, and go home. I need a counselor, who understands what I am going through. Today rather than removing my swollen Gallbladder, the Surgeon wanted to admit me to the hospital for Failure to Thrive. I have lost 4 inches in 1 year. I have insurance, I cannot FIND a proper Counselor or anyone for that matter, who cares, to even hear the word Chiari. Thank you if you can help me, as we are running in circles, and I am so weak, I am tired of thinking of this, dealing with this. I do not plan on Surgery for decompression.
@tazcot No I live in California the first time I went to this new pain Dr after he looked at my records he rushed me into this procedure never have me a chance to talk I didn't like that right away. . Lived in Pa but out here helping out with grandson
@jennyannsaal Since I didn't know what this is I researched it so debilitating I'm so sorry .What I saw was you need a good neurologist or maybe be you have one. The article said you need to listen to your body and research yourself.I wish I could help but that's all I found.Bless you
Thank you so much, yes been to a Neurosurgeon, I've researched to the moon and back, or I would not be putting my Very Private Struggle, on a very Public forum. Stay blessed
