@monakay Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. We are fellow patients experiencing all matters of ailments. We are not doctors, and cannot/will not give medical advice. We can share our experiences and what has worked for us.
What type of chronic pain do you suffer from, and when did it start? Would you like to tell us a bit of your story? What have you tried for relief? This way, we can give you better responses.
I hope you will come back and share with us.

Hi Mona,
Welcome to our group! We are here to support you in any way we can. Each of us has a story, but many of the experiences are the same. We all have or have had chronic pain that has led us on a medical journey for help. For some of us, we are still searching for the doc who can give us an answer and help us. For others, we have found the doc who is working with us.
I know how difficult it can be to find someone who believes you. For me, my journey was over a decade. Today, with the help of a fantastic surgeon, I am pain free for the first time in over 10 years!! I was to many docs who could not understand WHY I felt so much pain considering the tests did not show too much.
I went through years of PT, chiropractors, acupuncture, cupping, massage, pain docs, you name it! Be patient, I know it is hard, and do your research. As a person in the medical field, I am sure you know there are good, forward thinking docs and those stuck in the stone age. For me, it took lots of research to find a great pain doc and then a great neurosurgeon when the pain doc could no longer help.
Until you find such docs, try home remedies like turmeric, TENS machines, warm Epsom salt baths, walking (even though it might be painful), weight loss, yoga (you can find tons of soft yoga on YouTube), meditation, etc.
Good luck to you!
