Yes, I started to have blurry vision with floaters simultaneously and it has persisted. I am also experiencing hair loss since beginning Evenity. What to do?
Did you have any symptoms of the osteonecrosis ? I don’t think endocrinologist are qualified for mouth / teeth examination . It would be a periodontist or maxillofacial Md .
I asked my dentist about Evenity before I started. He has been my dentist for 25 years and so knows me and my oral health the best. I don’t have any dental, endodontic or periodontic problems at present. He told me that if I developed problems that needed care beyond my usual cleaning and an occasional filling replacement that we would discuss how to address this. My dentist encouraged me to go ahead with Evenity so that is what I am doing.

On my lower jaw tiny teeth started growing and hurting me, that’s when I saw the surgeon. He removed the tiny teeth and prescribed antibiotics and a prescribed mouthwash. I believe that I was on those two meds for about three months.
Prolia was the cause.
I started Evenity two months ago after two years of no bone help at all. Evenity which is a monthly injection so far works with me.
Dec 16 2023. I have stage o osteonecrosis of the jaw( dx by maxillofacial surgeon) after third Evenity injection( my endocrinologist did not examine my mouth before initiating Evenity) ? Now I need dental procedures , 18 days after my last dose, 11/28/23. Apparently extraction often can precipitate severe Osteonecrosis of the jaw. Is this Endocrinologist negligent. Should I be on antibiotics or should I go ahead with the coronectomy ? It will expose almost as much bone as an extraction?????
Both my oral surgeons researched the Evenity-osteonecrosis connection and advised postponing injections for 2 months before and after the dental work. For me that worked but the dentist did so some research beforehand which I appreciate. Were you advised to follow this protocol? If not, there might have been some negligence there.
I don't have an answer to your question but I wonder if you would be willing to comment on your choice of follow-up drug. Thanks in advance and good luck to you...I just had my fourth shots of evenity.
I had 12 shots of Evenity and no problem. I have had one shot of Prolia but do your research on this drug. Prolia seems to be causing all kinds of problems and future back breaks too. I just had infusion back surgery due to an injury but don't like it that I am on Prolia. You have to have a relay drug off of the Prolia.

I have just begun Evenity infusions. When I complete the 12 infusions my endocrinologist is going to prescribe Reclast. Maybe that would be a better choice for you?

All of these bone building meds seem to have necrosis of the jaw danger. It is very encouraging to me that your dentist could treat the condition without problems. Thank you for sharing. I am on Evenity now, just started. My dentist examined me beforehand and encouraged me to take the infusions.

Yes I did have symptoms and was diagnosed by a surgeon having osteonecrosis.

I am taking Evenity. It’s a monthly injection with an ending use date of 12 months then off you go.
I have taken two injections and so far I’m doing fin with it.
My Surgeon treated me with no problems. Someone else may have issues.
