Quad tendon tissue adherence......
So 15 months out from a right TKR and I finally have an answer. After several visits to my orthopedic Dr. and being told my X-ray is fine he wanted to send me to pain mgmt. for a nerve ablation (which I said I'd go but not do) and his secretary of all people called me. Because they could not get me in they asked another Dr. however he did not do the nerve ablations but she said why not go and see this guy anyway in the meantime to see if he could help. He did an ultrasound and showed me how there was not much movement in the quad tendon on the right as compared to the left and it was 2 1/2 times larger, some inflammation and scar tissue. He injected it with fluid to break it up some and sent me to PT for 6 weeks to break it up. I'm hoping this helps. Why wasn't this done months ago when I was complaining about the pulling and tightness that was happening. I knew something wasn't right. If you think something isn't what it should be don't stop pursuing answers. I finally have mine so don't give up. Hopefully PT works to get this broken up. I'm so glad the secretary had me come in and see him. He was a sports medicine Dr.

1 ReactionThanks....I thought I did. I'm on two different sites and can't remember which one I posted. I originally posted about them wanting to send me to pain management. I'm so happy with this sports medicine guy and certainly do not want pain management.

2 ReactionsI am so glad people are talking and writing about scar tissue/adhesions post surgery. My surgeon said implant is fine and it is scar tissue but his solution is revising my partial hip replacement with full. Wouldn’t that result in possible more scar tissue? My PCP told me to pursue any and all possible solutions before doing more surgery. So these posts are very helpful. Thank you.
