I was only given 2 weeks and told that I could get another 2 weeks if needed. One week after being released I had to go back and have another tube put into to release air that had gotten trapped. This caused a crackling sound in my arm, shoulder and in the lung area. After being released again I needed the second week of pain meds due to severe pain around the nerve area. When tried to renew the prescription I was told that it was back ordered due to shortage throughout the US. Two weeks later the pain and swelling was so bad that I could not breath, talk, move or cough without this unbearable pain. My surgeon advised me to go to emergency room where I was given pain meds which worked. The next day I was able to get the hydrocodone refilled. I took for one week and then stopped taking it and have been taken Tylenol every since. I still have small pain around the rib nerve but nothing like the nightmare I experienced in August and September. Due to the pain I would not have been able to drive for a month even if I were not on the meds.

That awful! I’m so sorry you had to go through that! I was lucky that my pain only lasted about 3 weeks from the incisions and I haven’t had a problem since. I’m glad you are doing better!
