Hi,@granmar, I just wanted to add my little bit here about weight loss. I am not "there" yet by any means, but I have lost enough weight that I do not have to constantly rely on strong medicines to live every day. Turned out, two of my meds were recalled as possibly containing carcinogens.

I don't have to wear clothes from the large lady sections anymore, and I am able to get around much better. My fibromyalgia flares are fewer and farther between. It took me a long time to change my thinking about food. But I am comfortable with my decision to eat to live instead of the other way around. I try to stay active and plan to get back to my water aerobics class soon.

Thanks for all your encouragement!

Mamacita

Good Morning Mamacita!
You are correct that there is no one way to lose weight. I bet for each person trying, there is another 'diet' to try. There is one thing I know for sure (and it is often said), it cannot be a 'diet' that helps us to lose weight! We need a lifestyle change. Diets are temporary and so is the weight loss. Diets do have a place. Some of the better ones will help us to learn 'how' to eat. That, is the problem. We eat too much, at the wrong times, of the wrong things (wrong meaning for our particular health concerns). Finally, a 'diet' usually omits at least one food group. Omissions eventually lead to adding those food groups back in.

You are doing a great job! They say that losing 10% of your weight adds years to your life. Not all afflictions can be 'cured' by weight loss, but can certainly help!

Keep up the good work, you'll get there. Just set yourself small attainable goals to make your loss manageable.
