Katie, I am 75 and have severe spinal stenosis for many, too many years. I now have a spinal stimulator that has helped immenseily( not sure of spelling). I have had it for over two years, and I am sure that I could not function without it. I* have been told that I will know when the stimular is no longer an option. Seems spine surgery is the next step and I am praying that won't be for a long time. I also have heart problems, periphal neuropothy.
Each day, for me, starts with a new comittment, smile at the pain, keep my sense of humor and be a nice person. I take blood pressure med, fluid retention med., gabapentin 800mg +tramadol 50mg every 6 hrs for the Neuropothy. I also take herbs.
I believe I can understand unrelenting pain and I am so grateful for anything that helps reduce the pain or gives me a little relief.
As far as we tell ourselves that God will fix this or we are being punished for something, we are not listening to what Christ has said, "I am here to give you evertthing you need, now go live your life." It has been my experience that the things that happen to us is due to the world we live in. And all I can do is try to not let it take my life away. I am so very blessed to have those around me that love me, that is when I will let them in...sometimes pain robs us of who we have believed we are, so please don't give up!!! Keep faith and don't let the pain win.
I pray that you have the PEACE that passes all understanding.
PEACE & LOVE......jj (FEMALE:
