I am hoping to begin Evenity Treatments soon. I would like to get more information from someone who has actually done this treatment. Have you had many of the side effects listed? Did the treatment increase bone density? I know this is a new treatment so a little hesitant to start but know I need to do something.

Finished November 2023 all 12 injection. Minor irritation and tiredness for a day and occasional headache. Honestly no problems at all!! DXA 13.8% gain in BMD in spine (-3.1 to -2.5) and total femur 5.4% increase in BMD (-3.0 to -2.7) and femoral neck increase BMD of 8.1% (-3.3 to -3.0). and no fractures!!

Still working on it and reluctantly taking alendronate weekly by mouth with so far just 2 episodes of GERD resolved
with minor use of antacids. I do feel lucky i’ve tolerated these drugs and know everyone is very different but this has been my experience. Best to you!!

@tkronstedt I’ve had two months of Evenity injections and will get my third at the end of this month. I had a little soreness at the injection sites but that was gone within 24 hours. I have osteoarthritis so it’s a little difficult for me to tell if I’m having any joint pain which is a more common side effect of Evenity. I think perhaps I have a little more joint pain but it doesn’t bother me all that much.

When you think about it people are going to post their side effects and fears about Evenity. They self-select and may not come to Mayo Clinic Connect to post that they have no side effects. You’ll note that a few people in this discussion have written they had very few or no side effects on Evenity and they gained significant bone density.

I figured Evenity was worth a try for me since I had a fracture last year. I sure don’t want any more fractures. My endocrinologist at Mayo Clinic has a lot of experience with osteoporosis medications including Evenity. Since that’s what he recommended for me I decided I’d follow his recommendations.
