@anomad I would like to offer a bit more information. Epidural injections are given in the spine area for problems that are caused by a spine condition such as compression of a nerve exiting the spine. That can be a reason for pain in an ankle (in the absence of ankle injury). The doctor first needs to track down the source of your pain. This is often the job of a neurologist who does some tests and imaging to determine where the pain is being generated. Sometimes, neuropathy is just caused by nerves wearing out. This is what a doctor needs to determine to know what is right for the patient.

I have not seen a neurologist. I am treated at the VA . I just got a Epidural on past Friday. The tingling And burning has stopped but I still have the Numbness.
