I see the coffee mug in your picture. When they warn you about caffeine believe them. I had the 5 treatments at Mayo Phoenix and after the first I had my mug waiting for me in the car for the drive home. Got home and did my second mug in my Mr. Coffee with no problem. Second treatment on Wednesday, same routine till about an hour after that second mug and my bladder said, "you dummy you should have listened". Had to pee every fifteen minutes weather there was a full bladder or just a few dribbles. Say goodbye to the coffee for a while till after your radiation treatments are over.

All the best to you. I’m 7 months out of treatment and doing very well. My 2nd set of numbers came out very well and doing well. Recovery is a bit longer than I thought it would be, but my doctors are very happy and I’m feeling better each day. I received 5 radiation treatments and 3 hormone shots. The side effects of the hormone shot are the worst.
Good luck and Godspeed, Brother.

Thanks slick. Congratulations on kicking cancer's ass!

I am hoping the 5 SBRT side effects are minimal, and expecting the 6 months of Orgovyx ADT to be bothersome but manageable.

Looking forward to starting the radiation next week.

Stay Strong Brother.

If you can hold the water they have you drink and don't mind the saline filled ballon up your butt to immobilize your prostate it is a piece of cake. I felt guilty when they had me ring the bell, but I was only driving 35 minutes one way to Mayo Phoenix.

Update on yesterday's SBRT #4.
The machine that is treating me (Varian Edge) takes two revolutions to administer the fraction. They line you up with lasers and images before, track the fiducials during the rotation (and the machine automatically holds the beam if you and/or your prostate move out of acceptable parameters), and they re-image between fractions. Took a little longer than the previous three treatments because during the second rotation the machine saw my prostate was not within parameters and it stopped. Took a couple minutes to start again.....the machine had to move me 1/10 (0.1) millimeter.....wow THAT'S accuracy!
Went for a 2.5 mile walk after treatment, little headache and a little fatigue last night. Reduced urine stream at 4:00am (only got up once), this morning stream is fine. Just finished 45 minutes of dumbbells and abs, off to walk 18 holes this aft.
We'll see how I feel after my final treatment tomorrow.....will feel guilty ringing the bell, but I will get over it!
I will report in again in the next day or three.
Still no Orgovyx side effects (just started week #4)
Stay Strong Brothers!

Congrats Toolbelt. I'm with you. I think exercise is the key. Ring that bell with pride. All of us guys have been through a lot of medical and emotional crap to get there.
BTW..2 weeks out from my last SBRT, still no side effects.

Thanks pbmurf! I will ring that bell with pride, but I will be mindful of all the souls with all kinds of cancers that have endured, and are enduring so much more than I have.

Ditto on the exercise....I think it critical on many levels physically and mentally.

Congratulations on finishing SBRT....I am stoked to hear you have no side effects at this point. Did you get a rectal spacer placed?

All the Best in the New Year!
