If I listen completely there would all sorts of procedures with unchangeable consequences that could last a lifetime… they don’t know how my body feels most are in it for the money and if doesn’t work out they go oops sorry and who is stuck with the consequences

So true

I had a kidney stone and rather than just removing it, the surgeon decided to insert a kidney stent "out of an abundance of caution" - and took off for her vacation. It hurt like hell for 40 days and permanently messed up my bladder... that was summer, 2022. I'm still dealing with the aftermath. Kidney stone removal went fine. Stent insert was an unnecessary disaster. I didn't even need antibiotics. No infection or risk of infection. Sometimes younger surgeons just like to practice... particularly on seniors. So be careful what you agree to. All surgery is at your own risk. Stents have a terrible track record and almost all have adverse consequences for the patient. Not recommended. I don't know why they still allow them at all. Awful.
