30 days after my top left lobectomy and a wedge taken out the left lower lung I added lots of B12 gummies to the Colchicine .06 in order to up my red blood cell count and lower my inflammation. I am now at 75 days post surgery and feeling no real pain, just a random zap every few days. However, my surgeon thinks I have no pain because as the head of Thoracic surgery at the Mayo Clinic she believes she is just that good at cutting into people. I also take lots of vitamin D3 and a K2 pill once a day.

Well she just may be that good! 😊 I have read that the upper left is the most complex lobectomy because of all the disconnects and reconnects. I am already taking B12 and have been reading about K2 - I may order that today.

It seems like the Colchicine is working but more like a pain pill yesterday than an anti inflammatory. I took 0.6mg at 8 in the morning. It was at peak effectiveness around 2 hours later- and lasted until 5 pm-ish before it began to wane. I took the second dose around 8pm.

This morning ribs felt better early so maybe the longer benefit is kicking in.

I’m hopeful. And thanks so much for the response. I was getting nervous I was breaking new ground here. I trust my rheumatologist with my life so I wasn’t really scared tho 🙂

But while the diaphragm would still rather I don’t take deep breaths, the ribs don’t seem like as much of a painful obstacle.

Thanks again!!
