This is how NJH says to care for the aerobika. Depending on disease state you might need to sterilize after each use or at minimum once a day. I did not see anything about vinegar for cleaning or sterilization.

Maybe time to leave a sputum sample given your additional discomfort and increased cough?

I use the 70% alcohol method for sterilization (as listed per NJH). Much quicker and simpler.
