Which blood test is checking for seratonin levels? Trying to understand all of this medical stuff can be overwhelming.

5-HIAA test is typically a 24-hour urine sample. Rarely, a random urine sample or a blood sample may be drawn from a vein. The 5-HIAA test helps diagnose and monitor treatment for a carcinoid tumor that produces serotonin.
