From what you have shared, you have been through so many surgeries and so much pain that my heart goes out to you. I have had a few surgeries and procedures, and pain, but not at the level you have experienced. As an RN, it must be very difficult for you to step back and have others determine what level of pain management you need. With the new emphasis on getting people off opioids, those whose bodies require strong pain control are being left in the cold. I'm sorry you're caught in this cycle.

I know that having a place to talk about our problems is very important to our mental health when we're in pain. Hopefully you will also find some alternative ways to help with your pain.
