Hi @cfbauer. I'd like to invite @bonniethompson1234, @suzig, and @pat814 who have all discussed having spider veins on Connect to share some of their experiences and also any treatments they have found helpful or are still looking for.
@cfbauer, Have your spider veins started to cause you discomfort? Treatment can vary depending on your symptoms. Are you hoping to find a remedy to help your spider veins before they become an issue?
Mayo Clinic does list some things you can do to help prevent and manage varicose (spider) veins:
"Avoid sitting or standing for too long at a time. Take a quick break every 30 minutes if sitting too long. Avoid wearing tight clothing. Exercise regularly. Moving can help increase blood flow in your legs. Keep a weight that’s healthy for you. Elevate your legs regularly. Wear compression stockings (consult with provider for appropriate compression and length of time of use)." https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20350649
Thank you. I have no discomfort, just numerous unsightly spider veins involving one ankle. Maybe they are due to my profession which was veterinary surgey...standing up to 6 hours daily for four days a week for many years. I am looking into laser treatment.
