eddiereen, I too am a Vietnam vet. I served in the Air Force (air crew) from 1966-1972. I had one tour of duty in Vietnam S.E. Asia earning the Air Medal.
You can find some Medicare supplements (not Medicare Advantage as Mayo and other specialty hospitals don't take most of them) that will cover the co-pays and deductibles of Medicare. And some, like mine, reimburse me some of the costs of Medicare sending you a check or credit to your bank account each month to help reimburse your medicare monthly premium.
It has been a life saver for us financially. I have heart failure and the recent prostrate cancer. My wife couple of years ago got the unusual diagnosis of type 1 diabetic at age 72.
