John, I gave my glorious live oak tree more thought and here are a couple of pictures to give you better idea of this tree.

This property o n which my condominium buildings are built, was northern Florida swamp land. In the early 1970s, these buildings were built by filling the swamp with 'fill'. I am still in a flood zone, 3 areas are and do have some flooding during storms. We're addressed these issues with burms, bringing in rip rap and filling at the back of the property where we have drainage, a small creek flowing beside, behind the property to the St. John's River to the Atlantic.
Part of that creek area is preserved land and can't be built on...goody.

There were many water oak trees that have now aged out and we removed. They've a good life for 25-35 years. We have loblolly, bay, live oak, palm of various sorts, magestic and flowering southern magnolia...Red maple were planted that have lived out their lifespans as well. E
We had lovely dogwood trees. Gone! A blight hit several years ago a wiped out our many dogwoods.

All those trees are native to North Florida.
The live oaks left here by the builders must have been large enough to be worthy of saving and strong enough to survive, about 25-50 years old, not so large as to make building costly.

The pictures of this one I suppose show it to be 100 years old +.
