Are you also on Medicare Part A and B, by any chance? If so, use that instead of the VA insurance.

eddiereen, Way back before I was 65 I was going to VA for medical care. When I turned 65 I noticed when I went to VA they charged Medicare for the charges.

With that I moved to Medicare so not to take a slot for a veteran that did not have Medicare. I have both A and B and go to Mayo Jacksonville. I can go to any doctor or provider that takes medicare versus VA centers and clinics.

I agree with maoconectuser1 with most preferring to use Medicare as opens up a lot of different providers and locations. VA health insurance is very different than TriCare (retired military). Tri Care would be a secondary payer and I think the poster was talking about VA health care for veterans.
