This is happening to me now! I’ll be fine one minute and the next I’m on the floor or bent over in pain. The pain only last for a second or two but it’s s very very painful!! It takes my breath away and I have to use crutches after that (sometimes the rest of the day)! My pain is located on the to of my thigh between my hip and knee… I’m thinking my stem is moving around.. any thoughts???

Welcome to Mayo Connect where we try to support each other on our health journey.
Any pain severe enough to knock you down or persistent enough to need crutches should send you straight back to the operating surgeon. Have you been seen by them?
The usual ways to diagnose a problem like this begin with an x-ray followed by manual manipulation and possibly other imaging.
How long has it been since surgery?

Hello,
I had both of my hips done in December 2020, 3 weeks apart. I had the same kind of pain. I think it's because your nerves are healing, I always refer to that pain as my nerves being angry about being messed with and trying to wake up. It will eventually stop. I don't have anymore pain and actually it's like I never had replacements. It took a year to year and a half to feel really good. Now hopefully my knees do the same after a year , I'm 8 months and 6 months post op from knee replacements. I wish you luck and hope this helps.
