unbearable tugging and electric buzz feeling in leg

Posted by kaztaz @kaztaz, Nov 5, 2023

I have a constant contracting, tugging, electric shock feeling and ache behind knee in front of knee, calf, back and front of thigh...like the reaction you get when someone runs their fingernails down a blackboard 24/7.....I'm starting to get to the stage I can't take it anymore. All the drs are handballing me between them. Surely there is something someone can do.........I can't live like this.

I have restless leg syndrome and so do both my adult children. Having RLS alone is bad enough. I can’t imagine having it as well as the pain of neuropathy. I have gotten some relief from RLS through mild exercises and massage. I use a cream which contains magnesium for the massage. There are also 2 medications which work fairly well. I do not like the side effects and so use them only when I’ve lost an hour or more of sleep and am climbing the walls. One daughter takes the MEDS nightly and suffers no ill side effects as far as we know.

My next solution will be an accupuncturist. I found one accupressure spot in my foot which stops the jumping. Good luck and God bless.

I get this frequently. It is caused by a problem with my L5 disc and the nerve related to that. I am on Baclofen for spasms.

There is a v-shaped area where the tendon from the big toe meets the tendon from the second toe on top of your foot. Place a finger in the groove between the two tendons and press down hard. You should feel discomfort. If it hurts like an electrical shock then you found the correct spot. Everyone is different so you may have to wiggle your finger around a little. When you find it, mash hard from top and bottom and hold it 20-30 seconds.
