Good Morning Zippy,
Thank you for the information sent about your surgery and the impacts on memory. Very well thought with those tubs you have made and the pictures of the happy times you have well-kept with you. As you know, it is said that our brain is neuroplastic. In those last days, I watched a documentary called Resignify (not yet available outside Brazil), with reports of people who went through a brain stroke and leakage, losing their memories and regaining them through exercises and assisted therapy. Keep on with your exercises!!!!
Though I have not been through surgery, I also have memory problems. My epileptologist says that the 2 seizures per month I have on average are little by little undermining my cognitive reserve. So, for all that I consider important, I do a summary on my computer, for example, some books I have read that helped me much. I also do take pictures of happy moments!
Great that you have been able to remove all negative people from your life. I am in this process. In this sense, my epilepsy has also been a friend!
As to feeling lonely, after leaving the corporate world due to my epilepsy treatment, I did also feel that way. I then dived into hatha yoga, making new and nice friends over there. I do also participate in many epilepsy groups and have met really nice people that I became friends with. Marc Starnes has created a very nice group with online meetings every month. This group is called SHARE! Today we have an online meeting, in case you are interested. Here is the link: https://www.meetup.com/washington-dc-metro-epilepsy-meetup/
Wishing you a nice and happy day!
