I am 75 and the one thing that does help me is to keep active I start slowly with some stretching Ages ago the class I took when first diagnosed was to tighten your muscles then relax but I have to exercise then Epsom salts when U hurt ,mine is my thighs.,but to sit all day isn't good.When a flare up ,I don't want to do it but gradually I start Tramadol when needed.Advil and Tumeric on those days.
It's good to hear from you again. I've been thinking about you, wondering if you have moved.
I'm surprised that Medicare won't pay for your lab work. I have a lot of labs and never have been declined.
I think your doctor should advocate for you.

@virtuous69 Fibro flares are dreadful. I tell myself the pain is not real because I look healthy so I ought to be vibrant and active. I am not faking nor attention seeking. Moving to a more comfortable climate is not an option. I live alone.
I have done all I know to do. I have been prescribed meds in the past and they messed me up. I use a lot of Vapor-rub which sometimes helps. Since I am old and retired it seems I do not deserve to have quality of life. Up to me to advocate for myself. When others were trying to run my life things were really a mess. Thing is we continue to try...
