Sativa has primarily an energizing effect, while indica has a relaxing effect and can help you sleep.
This was explained to me be by my pain management doctor.
I have only tried edibles twice. Once in Colorado and once in California. The medical person helped me that normally works only on the medical side of marijuana. The person went and got the other person to help me. In the dispensary. The two times I tried it I used an indica and it took away the pain and let me sleep. What scares me is I once got a contact high on marijuana at a party and hallucinationated really bad and it scared me. So I worry about trying to use marijuana on a regular basis.
I think you misunderstood my texts, I am from Texas and stationed in Germany. Marijuana will always be illegal in Texas. Medical Marijuana is legal in Germany. I can’t smoke due to being asthmatic. I would only be able too do tincture or edibles. I can’t have any butane in them. Some edibles and tinctures do. Any kind of smoke triggers my asthma. My problem is I have a hard time sleeping due to the pain in which triggers my seizures. I am asking if people have experience using marijuana for sleep. I personally would not use it all the time. I don’t like feeling like I am out of control. That’s what I dislike about anesthesia. I have over 50 different drug allergies. I can’t take gabapentin and lyrica like the majority of people on this website.

I have have found that one THC gummy (20%) a half hour before bed helps relieve the pain and cramping enough to allow me get to sleep. I know everyone is different but it might be worth a try if you can't smoke or vape.
