UTI Gram Negative Bacteria
I’ve always had UTI’S at least 5 or 6 per year. Antibiotics always took care of it. Recently I’ve been getting Gram Negative UTI that’s almost impossible to get rid of. In May I was hospitalized with Citrobacter Bacteria that caused Sepsis and had IV antibiotics. For the past 3 weeks I’ve been uncomfortably dealing with E COLI, ESBL, MDR another Gram Negative Bacteria that won’t go away. I just finished another dose of Fisfomycin and 5 days after I’m experiencing symptoms again. Anyone else have bad bacteria that won’t clear up. I’m really hoping I don’t have to lay in the hospital again with IV antibiotics and all their horrible side effects.

yes. I decided to do alternative. I do not know your other medical but here is what I did. These bugs develop resistance so I tried to break the barrier. The more they use antibiotics the likelyhood it comes back with resistance and angry. While the infections was going this is what I did ,Monolaurin by Solaray 3 times a day , Oreganol 2x/day, Olive Leaf ( Natures way) 3X/ day. Drank lots of water with 1 Alkaseltzer a few times a day to change the pH ( gram - is different and alkaline seemed better).
Drank Colloidal silver 3X/day for 5 days. Started a very high quality Kefir and Activia to change the microbial of my gut. Got one of those expensive probiotics for women vaginal only in the refrigerated section in pill form as well. Found that a small amount of Vodka made me pee easier ( crazy but true). I take a small amount of Alprazolam now and it seems to help.
Now when and if I feel it may be coming on I do the Oregano/Monolaurin/Olive Leaf and up the daily probiotic. I hope this helps and feel free to reach out.
Thank you! I’ve always been healthy. I would get UTI’S, go on meds and go on with my life .. until March of this year when I started with the gram Negative bacteria. I was hospitalized twice in April and pretty sick with this infection. September 4th it started up again and finally by October 6th I was clear.
I have been reading about oregano/leaf and thinking about trying it. I’m taking methenamine and refrigerated florajen for women. I also started with kefir and activia or Greek yogurt. I do take alprazolam when needed. You mentioned some other things that work for you .. so I’m going to look into to it. I’ll try anything that may work.
I forgot to add that I am post menopause but reasonably healthy and I had dryness( Sahara desert) so I found a doctor who prescribed compounded estriol/progesterone topical vaginal in a Versa base. Seems to help significantly. And while I had the active crisis, I sprayed Colloidal silver on the opening of the urethra. I figured if the bad guys can get up there so can some antibacterial silver. Good luck and feel free to reach out anytime.
I’m 73! My urologist gave me an estrogen cream to try. I haven’t tried yet as I’m adding one new med at a time just in case I have a reaction I’ll know which med it is. I will definitely check out the Collidal silver. Thank you
I posted earlier about foods that you can eat that will eat the E. coli in your bladder. Blueberries, cherries, cranberries, apples, green beans, broccoli, and cabbage. Once I started eating these on a regular basis, I have not had a UTI, for at least four years. I also increased my water intake. You don’t have to eat all of these in one day, just maybe two or three.
Thank you! I love all these foods. Congratulations on 4 years UTI free! I hope one day I can say the same and share what I did to help others!
You're very welcome! Best to you!
Do you eat yogurt and other dairy products while on Methenamine?
I've been eating Lactaid Greek Yogurt (1/4 cup every other day with non-acidic fruit & Kind Granola) for breakfast. I take one Visbiome prebiotic per day.
Thank you for responding! I really miss my yogurt, I guess I’ll have to try the lactaid. I’m having a hard time tolerating the probiotic so I’m looking for other options to help.
