Yes, I have word finding issues mostly now only when tired. The long COVID clinic doc at OHSU recommended mindfulness 15 min 2 times per day. I tried it and it helped a lot! I was working my brain with puzzles and such but he said to do the opposite and rest my brain. He said there have been several studies showing mindfulness and meditation to improve memory and word finding in long COVD patients.

My guess that meditation is helpful is that it activates the cingulate cortex. In my rudimentary understanding of brain structures as they relate to treating PTSD, I have learned that a strong Cingulate cortex helps regulate through self correction. Meditation is helpful because we work the cingulate cortex: our mind drifts and we bring it back to some focal point. If you can do a meditation without brain drift, the positive effects of the meditation diminish.

Since cognition issues like focus, attention, word retrieval, etc are a correction function: this not that? It makes sense to me that meditation might feel relaxing but it’s actually quite active but without judgment?
