@cpd54 and @tilou Dr. Keith McCormick has a lot of information on "Whole Body Approaches to Osteoporosis" (the title of his first book) but is a strong proponent of medications when needed. He himself had fractures and did Forteo followed by a year of Reclast, I believe.

@tilou if you have already fractured, I hope you will consider Forteo, Tymlos or Evenity to build back bone. I chose Tymlos because the dose is adjustable and it is very good for spine. I have spinal fractures and my bone density went from -3.3 to -2.5 (borderline) in 18 month of daily injections of Tymlos.

Keith McCormick's latest book "Great Bones" has a lot of info on meds as well as holistic approaches, which can be used together or in sequence. He does consultations in person and by phone.

Thank you so much for your help. I certainly will consider it.

@cpd54 , @tilou - I will respectfully clarify what windyshores thought—I will tell you that McCormick told me personally in an appt with him that he did take Forteo for 2 years BUT followed it up with Fosamx for 1 year. Which is what he said is possible for me , however - one must keep doing all the other lifestyle things that impact on osteo. Hope that is helpful!!! Good luck !!

@tilou- Hello. When your T score went from -3.3 down to 2.5 on Tymlos did you stop taking Tymlos? It is my understanding that -3 and less is osteoporosis. And yours got worse.

Merry
