Pain control with DIEP flap reconstruction

Does anybody have exp with a pain pump for at home pain after surgery?

Sorry, no. They sent me home with opioids, ibuprofen and gabapentin after my DEIP-Flap. Maybe age is a factor? I was 39.

Hello. I have decided to forego the surgery at this time. I will get a lumpectomy in a few weeks. My mom was just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which is terminal. I am her caretaker and the recovery time for the flap is more than I can handle atm.

I am so sorry about your mum. I delayed mine too. My mum is in renal failure and when I brought her home from the hospital I had been told she had days to just a few weeks . That was in January. With Gods help I have been taking care of mum. When I had an mri in June my cancer was still in situ and so I have continued spending every second with my mum taking care of her . We have lots of fun moments . It is hard sometimes but the joy I have supersedes it all. Hang in there. You will be blessed beyond for taking care of her.
