shabangy; what--if anything---did they do for the eroded hip joints? Like you, I've had several injections, used the creams for pain, etc, but nothing helps. I do have degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia, and I am 80. Just wondering if there is any help for the joints??

Hi Dorma - actually I was the one who had eroded hip joints. The femur tops were rough & misshapen. The acetabular cups (the openings in the pelvis) actually looked "raggedy" on the x-rays. The cartilage was nowhere to be found.

The solution was total hip replacement - I had them done 6 weeks apart because I was still working and I could fit them into my "slower" season that way. (Not recommended - recovery from 2 surgeries that close was rough.)

Even though I had some missteps along the way, I have never regretted getting it done - I was 54 and could barely move. Now I am in my 70's and can nearly keep up with my grandsons. I just hope my knees hold up now.
