Gerd and Gastritis Symptoms Went Away While on Vacation. Why?
Was on a cruise and ate and drank everything. From fried foods to 6 or so drinks a day. No gastritis or gerd issues at all. Felt great. Yes, I could drink and eat bacon and fried foods all day, but now that I am back home and watching myself, I don't get it. Ideas? Yes, could go back on vacation. Thanks.

I know that cruise food is usually given out in small amounts. Perhaps you ate less at each sitting?
Thanks but I ate at least 10 pounds on the scale worth! lol
So maybe stress and tension bring on your GERD. Did you do more exercise on the cruise? Think of the activities you did on the cruise. Try to relax, and especially when eating don't slouch and move around after eating. Do stretching exercises and open up the area around the sphincter. Pressure on the sphincter can cause it to open (like those old coin purses that you squeeze to open the slit in the middle)
@mikejjb123 Stress can exacerbate GERD. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could live on cruise ship permanently, on doctor’s orders? Especially if you could write it off as a medical expense? ☺️
got that right! lol
got that right lol
@mikejjb123 I’d be the first one in line! 😄
@mikejjb123 Consider having your house inspected for mold.
HI,
Sounds like maybe normal-life stress aggravates or causes your gut problems?
Since you have thought already about what you eat, maybe examine "how" you eat during normal life compared to how you ate on the cruise. I used to eat fast at my desk at work. Or skip meals. Resulted in gas and heart burn.
Hope you feel better! 🙂
One of two things: either it's all literally "in your mind" (stress) or there's something you're eating and drinking at home that you didn't on the cruise: water supply ok??? brand of coffee???? SUPPLEMENTS????? extra healthy stuff they didn't have on ship? THINK. Whatever you identify, STOP. And wait. If GERD goes away, voila.
