How do you know if your z-line is normal?

yes - the Z line is 38 cm from your incisors which is normal. The sliding hiatal hernia is a separate issue. I do not know what size the sliding hiatal hernia needs to be to be of concern. You need to check with your doctor regarding that. I guess if you are not symptomatic don't worry about it. However, if you have acid reflux etc it may possibly be due to the hernia and you should check with your GI doc.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it, the reason I had the endoscopy done was due to abdominal pain no acid reflux just stomach cramps, they said I have moderate gastritis I think the small hernia was just found incidentally, I don’t believe the small hernia is the culprit of the gastritis though I’m thinking it may be due to a potential food intolerance, have you known a hernia to cause gastritis?
