Thank you so, what elegant writing! I love writing lol. He's a extremely private man, and as I was texting up letter, I knew something was bothering him as he was in and out of bathroom. I asked him if he was ill with dirreaha and he said no, just loose stools, several times, belly pain and this was a first. It was like an attach of some sort. He also is beginning to loose weight, looks peeked at times. Sweats and chokes profusively before vomit attach. But, I'm going to email his doctor with these new symptoms they only did an upper endoscopy. I forgot to mention fatigue.
Hi mom,
It's been 2 months since starting the medicines and diet? Seems to me that you should tell the doctor that there are still symptoms, soon.
Congratulations to your husband for quitting the drink. What a battle he has won! There's lots of alcoholism/heavy drinking in my family. It's a [insert every bad word you know here.] He has fought a beast and stabbed it in the heart. Good for him!!! He deserves great praise. And so do you.
It occurs to me: Do you think he might be embarrassed that the drink may have caused his health problems? Well, I think most people would admire him for quitting and then for getting the help he needs. He should be proud of himself now, not embarrassed.
Some folks in my family have gotten support from AA. Maybe your husband could try a local meeting to help him stay off the stuff long term.
Shoot, I just had a bad thought. Does he have a bottle hidden someplace? Some of the anti-alcohol medications purposely make you throw up, if you take a drink. I really, really hope that I am wrong about this, but the doctor would need to know in order to give the correct treatment. After one of my relatives passed, we found bottles stashed away in hiding places. I'm so sorry to bring this up.
Get him back to the doctor soon. Good luck!
All males, please stop reading past here [joking]
OMG, why won't these men go to a doctor??? My husband drives me crazy about it!! Maybe show him the bill for the ER and the bill for an office appointment.
@momluvsthree
I feel so bad for your husband! What a misery.
I wonder if he has had any neurological evaluations and tests? Morning vomiting without any special cause could be due to a central nervous system disorder.

Hi, @momluvsthree. Your husband's symptoms and history sound very much like a 56-year-old neighbor's. There is not enough information available on either case for me to say with confidence that your husband should do what my neighbor did, but your "almost" suggestion is on the right track, it seems to me. Four days ago, my neighbor moved past his reluctance, took his wife's suggestion seriously, and had her take him to the emergency room. He has been in intensive care there four days, and his medical team there told him he'll be in the ICU at least four more days, then perhaps in regular hospital care after that. So my suggestion is that you obtain as much good advice from medical professionals as possible on the question of emergency medical care now, rather than only if the case gets worse. Prayers, not just hopes, for his recovery before Thanksgiving. Martin
