Liver lesions found on PET scan: Stage 4 colon cancer?
During my routine check up after thinking I beat colon cancer they found several lesions on my liver. Has anyone experienced this? Does this automatically indicate stage 4 cancer? My doctor wants to do a biopsy asap.

Hello, I just went through this and doing Chemo now. I had a colonoscopy done everything was clear then I start having discomfort on my right side the cells quickly went to my liver.
Are they doing a biopsy on your lesion. My doctor wants one ordered but I don’t want to keep wasting time. It’s the worst news when your clear and then suddenly you are not
Please get a biopsy and do what they tell you. The cancer cells spread quickly. I hope you got my number I took it down.
Hi,
Mine spread to my liver but does not mean that yours has. Lesions do not mean cancer. Plus, you don't need a whole liver. A liver resection is not as bad as colon cancer surgery. There are many options including HAI liver pump, different combos of immune therapies, chemo and more. If it's any comfort, I have stage IV now but I am doing great. I still work full-time, and today I'm going to a fall festival, tomorrow I'll hike. I stay very active which is my happy place. If you have any questions - just reach out.
Thank you. Posts like these do give me so much hope. The chances of it being cancer are very high. My
Signatera test was positive for cancer cells and it’s the only place they found lesion. How can it be clear 2 months ago and now
This so fast? Trying to keep hope. Thank you for your message
Thank you for reaching out. I will save your number. I’ll go Monday. I’m going to do whatever they say
@maya8238, how are you doing? What are next steps for you?
Thank you for checking in. I’m feeling confused. I have a biopsy tomorrow and chemo scheduled for Wednesday but I feel ablation should be done first. My lesions are all under 3cm. I have 4 of them. Why would they start chemo instead of ablation first? My oncologist seems to also not be sure and said he will check with the radiologist too. It just all feels very unsure abs confusing
Are you able to post your question to your patient portal to get answers?
I would be confused too. Are you talking Radiofrequency ablation? Maybe because it spread so fast they are thinking prevent it from hitting other organs while stunting the growth in the liver?
