@pennykj

I am 71 and 16 years post menopause and am seriously considering HRT. I met with my cardiologist yesterday and he was neutral. I am seeing an osteoporosis specialist and I had planned to ask her at my appointment next week (but my appointment was canceled by her office and I may not get in until January). I have an appointment with gyn in 2 weeks to discuss with her.

How did it go? What did you end up deciding to do and how do you feel about that decision?

Hi, pennykj. I am 72 and met with an ob/gyn who prescribed the patch Climara and vaginal suppository 100 mg progesterone (Prometrium) when I asked about bioidentical hormones to assist in sleep and with osteoporosis. Just picked it up today at the pharmacy and I find I am somewhat anxious about starting it.

I am curious as to how your situation turned out and if you would have any advice for me. The only health issue I have is hypothyroidism, for which I take levothyroxine.
