I have had chronic UTIs for several years - some of which landed me in the hospital. Sometimes those hospital visits would cause me to catch additional infections because I have a chronic disease called Panhypopituitarism. This disease means I haven’t got a working pituitary gland and that means I have a very lousy immune system. A few months ago one of my doctors told me to start using estrogen cream three days a week and it might help my UTI situation. Well, indeed it did! The important thing for me is remembering to use the estrogen when I’m supposed to but I’m having s memory issues and occasionally I forget to use the estrogen. The secret is - don’t get as old as I am!

@beleza in my experience this is the only permanent solution and it is permanent when used on schedule consistently. It also cured my urinary incontinence and urgency. I was only 52 when I started on it. I can’t imagine living the rest of my life with UTIs and urinary incontinence. Also I was having vaginal chaffing on the inside if I walked more than 10 minute. I did need a double dose of the vaginal insert tablets. I’m now trying the vaginal cream at a single dose because I read that it is more effective. I am absolutely horrified by how many post menopausal women are being treated repeatedly for UTIs and not being offered this simple, safe, effective treatment!
