August 2022 for me, a month after Covid ( mild case). I know I resisted a gastroenterology cause but now being on Famotodine 40mg twice daily for a week I’m feeling some relief. This after rounds with cardiology ( misdiagnosed as heart failure ( beta blockers exacerbated asthma brought on by Covid); Pulmonary – rx’s Albuterol and Symbicort, after a cardiologist realized it was asthma and I was not in heart failure; few findings with ENT (a little more mucous than normal but how about speech therapy for the extreme hoarseness); and a year of self treatment (chewing gum worked the best). I’m scheduled with gastroenterology in February 2024. So frustrating but mine had moved into constant chest pain and Famotodine has improved that- like almost gone-and the gagging phlegm is relieved tremendously. I never thought it could have been Gastro either since I didn’t experience heartburn but I do think this is it.

It could be silent reflux where you do t have any heartburn symptoms but the acid creeps up and inflamed esophagus and makes it difficult for phlegm to go down. Glad you found some relief

Also sorry to say but not so sure it’s a good idea to stay on acid reflux meds for too long.
